I called to this hotel for coffee while cycling in the area. Lovely coffee very reasonably priced l called later that evening for some drinks. Very friendly staff. I asked about getting my ebike battery recharged no problem l picked it up next morning fully recharged and free. I had a lovely Scottish breakfast reasonably priced.I highly recommend this hotel with it's brilliant location and friendly atmosphere
We loved everything about our dinner and park up at this establishment. We were welcomed with such friendly enthusiasm we are still taking about it, a week later! Without any hesitation, we were given permission to park up our motorhome in their front carpark, and happily enjoyed a night of good food and drinks in their dining room, all the while, making new friends with the staff. A big shout out to Joe, Taz and our waitress whom we didn't didn't catch her name, but do recall she was helping out that night, as she has been working in the house keeping section for the past good few years. What a great bunch of local Ambassadors for the town of Lochboisdale, we'll be sure to tell all motorhomers of your location and exceptional service. Thank you Team
We were set to take a calmac ferry back on the last day of our hike but it got cancelled - initially popped in to drink some coffee and get warm but ended up staying the night. Absolute treat, especially after several days in a tent. Food was amazing and the atmosphere delightfully cozy. Cheap pints as well!
Brilliant atmosphere. Brilliant staff. Fantastic welcome. My friend and I were there to celebrate my birthday on 25th June. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My birthday was extra special enjoying a very large margarita in the bar. This was special because the barman had to Google the recipe. Loved it... would definitely be going back there again.
Yes, as others have said this place is rather dated and could do with an overhaul, but having said that the welcome and service were very friendly and the restaurant food surprisingly very good, as was breakfast. I know it’s a major challenge to turn a profit on a hotel in a location like this with a limited season. As someone else has mentioned in another review, the water pressure in the bathroom was terrible - it took 25 minutes to run a bath deep enough to sit in, and a big chunk of wallpaper was peeling off above it. But the room nonetheless was cozy, and the view was great. Overall a mixed bag - saved by friendly service from the owner and the young man from Coventry who was helping out - but positive.
Beautiful place to stay. The food here was absolutely incredible, and the bar area is great with a lovely atmosphere. We came here and stayed for 3 nights, the staff here were so helpful in advising us the best places to visit. We will definitely return as there are a few more things we didn’t get time to do. The hotel itself is in the ideal position, super easy for the ferry. Our room was large with a stunning view, breakfasts were lovely. I would recommend visiting South Uist to anyone and especially to stay at the Lochboisdale Hotel.
We had dinner here whilst staying in the marina. The food was good. We had scallops, salmon and a beef pie with lovely gravy. Some parts of the building are in need of some tlc and a link of paint. The service was nice and friendly.
Called in for a few drinks the night before our ferry trip home. Main bar has a fun, bubbly atmosphere, popular with locals. Lady behind the bar was really friendly and made us feel very welcome. Local beer on tap and a shelf full of whisky. Nice way to end our holiday.
